Due to the low mintage of 1,530,000 coins, the 1902-S Morgan Dollar (Buy on eBay) carries a premium across all grade levels. Gem graded examples do remain somewhat available, in contrast to the San Francisco Mint issues for the following two years, which can be more difficult to acquire.
The highest graded 1902-S Morgan Dollars are four examples graded PCGS MS67. Most recently, one of these examples also verified by CAC sold at auction for $46,000 at a Heritage auction held in January 2009.
